Hello everyone! There is a lot of good information here so please read thoroughly.

I'm excited to say football is just around the corner. 6th grade is able to practice up to 3 days per week and up to 90 min per practice.  The first 2 weeks we are able to practice 4 days a week for 90 minutes. Also, our games will be played on Saturday’s for some games and there may be some weekday games as well.  First game will most likely be around August 21st. More to come on that once the MEYFL finalizes the schedule. 

More great news for our program is we had an increase in the number of players registered. We have 56 players and we will be fielding 2-6th grade teams this fall.

As always, our plan is to create 2 evenly skilled teams and ensure that every child has a fun and positive experience. We have many experienced coaches, and their jobs are to ensure every child feels valued and grows both in football skill and most importantly as human beings throughout the year.

Practice will start the week of August 1 and will always be at Lake Middle School unless otherwise communicated. For now, we'd like everyone to plan on the below schedule for the week of August 1. Know that after Tuesday, August 2 your individual coaching staff will communicate if there is a change to the practice schedule for the week. Coaches also will communicate and schedule their future practices beyond the week of August 1. 

Monday, August 1 from 6-7:30pm  (All players together for assessments Helmets, mouthguards and a water bottle only)

Tuesday, August 2 from 6-7:30pm  (Hawk tackling technique Helmets only - kids placed on teams)

Wednesday, August 3 from 6-7:30pm (full pads)

Thursday, August 4 from 6-7:30pm (full pads)

We will create the teams/rosters in sports engine which will allow for easier communication and scheduling from your coaches so please ensure you have the SE app downloaded.

Some other information/dates to remember and add to your schedule:

All East Ridge Football Parents Meeting - Sunday, August 14 from 6 - 7:30pm @ East Ridge High School Auditorium. This is for anyone interested in learning more about the program from ERHS Head Coach Dan Fritze

Team Pictures - Thursday, September 15 @ East Ridge High School (sometime between 5 - 8pm, specific time TBD)

No worries if you're on vacation or have a family conflict during assessments, we'll place the kids on teams appropriately.

If you still need all or some of your equipment we'll provide a date/time/location for your child to get fitted or bring an individual item to practice.
