About ERAA Tennis

Who, What, and Where

Who...

ERAA Youth Tennis is offered to youth of all levels of ability in kindergarten-6th grade and living in the East Ridge High School boundary area.  Opportunities for all youth within ISD 833 may be provided, based on availability.

What...

We offer a fall session that runs throughout the first 5 weeks of the school year, and a spring session that runs throughout the last 6 weeks of the school year.

Each session provides instruction twice a week.

Participants are placed in skill groups based on age and ability:

  • Red Ball: Beginners, Ages 8 and younger
  • Orange Ball: Intermediate, Ages 9 and 10
  • Green Ball: Advanced, Ages 11 and older

The registration process will automatically place participants in a group based on their age.  Individual changes may occur after on court assessment by the Executive Director, Director of Coaching, or other Certified Tennis Professionals.  Please note that we cannot accept requests during the registration process to place individual players together.

Specific dates and times are announced when registration has opened for each program.

Where...

Sessions are held at the East Ridge High School tennis courts.

Volunteers

We are a non-profit program that relies on volunteers to succeed.  We are in need of parent volunteers to work with your children on the courts, as well as help with the administration.  It's highly rewarding, good exercise, and no experience is necessary.  Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Running station drills on the courts with your children
  • Coordinating the volunteer coaches
  • Assigning participant groupings
  • Ordering and distributing t-shirts
  • Organizing Lil' Raptor night
  • Website administration

Please consider helping in any way you can.

Program Philosophy

Our goal is to provide a high quality, developmental approach to teaching tennis.  Our hope is that our program will attract players to the game of tennis, as well as provide access to more court time, instruction and match play.  We are committed to promoting good sportsmanship, a highly positive atmosphere, giving your best effort, building new friendships and HAVING FUN!!

Weather-Related Cancellation Policy

We are unable to make-up practices due to weather-related cancellations, in the event of rain or temperatures below 45 degrees.

Participants will be notified of cancellations via email no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of their session.
