The spring session will operate from late April through early June. We are offering beginner (using the USTA QuickStart Program), intermediate and advanced level instruction, and students in Grades 1-6 (2011/2012 school year) are welcome to participate. The program will offer twice-weekly instruction for all levels, and a third day of optional match play. Every effort will be made to group kids by both age and ability. Registration for this program will begin on February 1, 2012. Space in this program is limited, so we encourage you to register early.
All instruction and match play will take place at the East Ridge High School tennis courts. The ERAA Tennis Program is offered to youth living in the East Ridge High School boundary area. Opportunities for all youth within ISD 833 may be provided, dependant on availability. If you live outside the East Ridge High School boundary and you would like to apply for an exception to participate in the program, please contact Tonya Dolezal, Director, at ERAAtennis@gmail.com.
Our hope is that this program will attract players new to the game of tennis, as well as provide additional opportunities for existing players to more court time, instruction and match play. We also feel strongly about promoting the ideas of good sportsmanship, a highly positive atmosphere, giving your best effort, building new friendships and HAVING FUN!!
The cost of the program is $95 and this includes an ERAA Tennis t-shirt. Participants should provide their own tennis racquet, water bottle and good tennis shoes. We do have a limited number of beginner racquets available for use. Please also contact Tonya at ERAAtennis@gmail.com before going through Registration if the athlete should be considered for Scholarship Assistance.
NOTE: You may have noticed that we will only be offering instruction to students in Grades 1-6 (2011/2012 school year.) This is a change from previous sessions as we would like to start encouraging all 7th graders to join their respective high school teams. The boys season is in the spring and the girls season is in the fall. Please check your high school website to contact your respective high school coaches about joining. These teams have "no-cut" policies, which means that all 7th graders are welcome to participate. If you have any questions/concerns about this change to our program, please send us an email at eraatennis@gmail.com. As for the "off" season, please know that your 7th grader is invited to participate as an "assistant coach" to the 6-8 year olds in our program, providing them with the chance for valuable coaching experience and future paid opportunities for lead coaching in our program, as well as community service hours. Let us know if your 7th grade daughter might be interested in taking advantage of this opportunity during the spring program.
We are excited to offer a Challenger level for those players who meet certain criteria as noted below. This competitive group is intended for Advanced players (grades 1st-6th) who are already participating in Match Play or tournaments, or those on track to becoming competitive tournament players. These players have developed strong fundamental skills and now will focus on advanced stroke techniques and strategy. You will receive high level coaching by a certified teaching professional and we will offer additional match play.
If your child meets the following requirements and would like to try out for this group, please send Steve Fridinger, our Director of Instruction, an email at eraatennis@gmail.com and he will set up a time for an evaluation.

We are unable to make-up practices due to weather-related cancellations. We encourage you to take advantage of as many Friday night match play opportunities as you can in case we get rained out on any Sunday/Wednesday practice nights.
Our goal is to provide a high quality, developmental approach to teaching tennis. Our hope is that our program will attract players to the game of tennis, as well as provide access to more court time, instruction and match play. We are committed to promoting good sportsmanship, a highly positive atmosphere, giving your best effort, building new friendships and HAVING FUN!!
