ERAA Fall Recreational Volleyball

Once again, ERAA will be forming an In House girls volleyball rec league for 3rd-6th graders. There will be 2 divisions, one for 3rd/4th graders and one for 5th/6th graders. This will be an instructional league with an equal playing time directive. No previous volleyball experience is required. Basic fundamentals of volleyball will be taught including serving, passing and setting. 5th/6th grade teams will build on these skills and introduce basic volleyball offenses.

ERAA teams will be playing games against teams from the Woodbury Athletic Association (WAA) and the Cottage Grove Athletic Association (CGAA). The program consists of: one practice per week, 5 matches (Saturday mornings), and a season-ending league tournament. The season will start with practices the first week of September (excluding Labor Day) and end with the league tournament in late October. Because of limited gym space, practice may not be on the same weeknight each week.

Shirts will be provided. Players should provide their own shorts, knee pads, and shoes appropriate for volleyball. ERAA will make available high quality volleyball knee pads, shorts, and socks for purchase when uniforms are issued.

Volunteer coaches are needed. Registration fees will be refunded for the child of one head coach per team. Training and coaching aides will be provided.
